BATH AND BODY CORNER - DAISYCAKESSOAP.ETSY.COM
l'lI admit it. While a lot of my features will be other people's jewelry and my own, I'm a bath and body addict. Now I'm not a daily makeup wearer, or someone who lives at the salon. No, it's more about the intangibles of B+B for me - scent, feel, ingredients.
I'm not the most loyal of customers - I mean if you're great, I'll be back, and daisycakes' product IS great. But I love a variety of scents and some days I just feel more like a candy coated margarita salt scrub kind of person and other days I'm really a single note lavender kind of person. So I'll share my periodic B+B binges and mini binges here.
Daisycakessoap is a top seller of bath and body goods on Etsy and there's no mystery why. The product is stellar. I'm not a bath fizzy person, so I can't speak to that, but the soap is the focus and the soap is marvelous.
Somewhere in between those things there's daisycakes soap. I have to say the soap is the strong point, and it's some of the better single-producer handmade soap I've bought. A lot of the time people don't get consistency down and you get kind of crumbling bars or uninteresting lather.
This stuff fights my hard water well and I get a nice, emollient lather. The scents are unbeatable - fun, but not remotely too synthetic. For the purists there are pure essential oil based scents, but I don't mind the high quality fragrance oils - chai tea soap? I'm in.
Lip balms are also great. I had an orange creamsicle stick from this shop a couple years back that was, sadly, husband repellent, while I couldn't get enough of it. Sometimes it's fun to torture your honey, I'm not the kind to never wear something because it makes mr. bombalurina complain. *insert devil emoticon*
But the chai tea and coffee and kahlua sticks I just got are different, the flavor and scent are sublimely subtle and not sweet. I don't mind the not-sweet - I feel like lip balm should be worn, not eaten. These are also fantastically softening - my lips are really totalled by the dryness of no humidity and -20 for days on end, and a lot of very waxy commercial sticks, even something not totally trashy like Burts' Bees
won't do the job - where these do.
My only sadness is that I have an old travel candle, coffee scented, at my work desk which I ordered a couple years back and it seems that daisycakes isn't doing any candles at the moment - darn shame, I should have grabbed more while I could. They were nice, and as usual, scented just beautifully, not overly scented, not candy-like.
